A few hours ago, the lead designer of Teamfight Tactics – Riot Mortdog announced the full updates for the upcoming patch 11.5. Although there are no direct changes to overpowered compositions and champions like Olaf, Tryndamere, or Kayle, patch 11.5 is expected to significantly impact the meta. Notably, Riot Games has provided substantial buffs to Mage units like Lulu and Veigar. Here are the specific changes:

2 Gold Champions
Janna: Shield amount reduced from 250/300/400 to 250/275/350.
Lulu: Energy changed from 80/150 to 75/140.

3 Gold Champions
Veigar: Skill damage increased from 450/600/900 to 500/650/1000.

4 Gold Champions
Aurelion Sol
When activated by the Mage trait, Aurelion Sol’s second skill will trigger 0.1s after the first cast. Essentially, this change prevents Aurelion Sol from being stunned between his two skill casts by the Trap Claw.
Morgana
This champion will no longer have the ability to reduce magic resistance.

5 Gold Champions
Samira: The interaction ratio with AD from the skill reduced from 50/60/80% to 30/40/60%. This skill will now have base damage of 15/25/40.
Swain: Damage based on the target’s maximum health increased from 25% to 30%.
Yone: Energy cost for the Death Mark (the skill after using the Mortal Blade) reduced from 20 to 10 points.

Items
Death’s Sword
Starting stacks reduced from 3 to 4.
Morello’s Evil Tome
Damage based on the target’s maximum health increased from 25% to 30%.
Statikk Shiv
Base damage increased from 60 to 65.
Fire Cloak
Damage interval reduced from 2.5s to 2s.
Damage based on the target’s maximum health reduced from 25% to 20%.
Trap Claw
The stun effect from this item will trigger faster.

With the above changes, the Mage composition will become significantly stronger in the mid-game (from levels 5-7). Lulu in patch 11.5 will be able to buff health for allies, frequently knock up opponents, and provide considerable crowd control for the team. The buff to Veigar’s base damage also makes it much easier for this champion to stack his stats. With these changes, the Forest God – Mage team could fully return to the meta.

The Dragon Tribe composition also received significant buffs in patch 11.5 as Aurelion Sol is no longer heavily countered by Trap Claw. Even the damage based on the target’s maximum health that Swain deals has been increased. This makes the overall damage output of the Dragon Tribe team quite strong in the late game. This composition may dominate the Teamfight Tactics meta for quite some time.
