If you ask players who have been with Teamfight Tactics since the early days which season they liked the most, the answer will likely be Season 1. The reason is quite clear: that was when the game was extremely fresh, and you had to get acquainted with everything from scratch, making the thrill of discovering new aspects an unforgettable experience.

Perhaps Riot Games understands this, so they have found a way to bring back some of that Season 1 feeling to Teamfight Tactics: Infinite Galaxy. Specifically, a new universe named Dwarf Planet has appeared on the PBE server (a type of planet in Astronomy), which was accidentally revealed by Riot Mortdog – the lead designer of Teamfight Tactics – during his stream.
Riot Mortdog: “Oh my god, the new Galaxy is already on the PBE. Of course, I knew about it, but I didn’t expect it to hit the PBE so soon. Welcome back to Season 1, everyone!”
Riot Games has introduced many Galaxies affecting items, champions, player health, and team building… However, they have not yet released a Galaxy that impacts the battlefield and team arrangement, and the new universe named Dwarf Planet is Riot’s first step in this direction. In this Universe, the last two rows of each half of the battlefield will be locked, preventing you from placing champions there and nothing can be moved to those areas during the combat phase.

With both sides’ formations needing each other more than ever, skills or area controls will be incredibly strong as they will almost always achieve maximum effectiveness. Meanwhile, formations that need to maintain distance, like Marksmen with units like Jhin who have an attack range of up to 1100, will face significant disadvantages as this system will increase damage dealt based on the distance to the target.

In any case, Riot Games is showing great consideration for long-time Teamfight Tactics players by unexpectedly bringing back the 6 x 7 battlefield similar to Season 1 in the new Galaxy, instead of the usual 8 x 7.
