While the current meta team compositions in Teamfight Tactics such as Void, Brawler Gunner, Pilot Spy, Kayle Jhin,… have quite a few carriers, patch 10.12 is completely the opposite. After the mid-season update, Riot Games introduced compositions where “everyone can become a superhero,” featuring many champions that can carry the team.
Here are those extremely diverse team compositions:
Mystic Guardian Team Composition
As we know, Void will be removed from Teamfight Tactics in patch 10.12. Without the high-quality true damage source like Vel’Koz, the composition of 4 Mystics will become very powerful.
As for the carriers, first will be Xin Zhao “the world” – returning as a 3-star 3-item champion with extremely strong team-carrying capabilities. Next is Rakan carry with continuous knock-ups, huge damage, and hard crowd control spread evenly across the entire enemy team. Following that is Cassiopeia – should only be played when equipped with Guardian Armor to activate Guardian for this champion. At that point, her skill spam ability and the magic resistance from 4 Mystics will make Cassiopeia as sturdy as a true tank. The “strange” point of Cassiopeia is that she is a Mystic champion yet can deal tremendous damage even at just 2 stars. Finally, the finishing piece of this composition is Urgot with his skill that pulls one enemy. Since the damage is sufficient, Urgot needs survivability to avoid being taken down while pulling.
Note: Regardless of which carry champion you choose in this composition, Rakan should also have the Spear of Shojin.
4 Marksmen Team Composition
In this composition, except for Caitlyn, any Marksman can become a team-carry. First is Ashe, who in patch 10.12 has reduced energy usage for her skills and increased arrow flight speed, making her very popular with the combo of x2 Shojin + Guinsoo’s Rageblade. Second, Teemo with the combo of Pilot + Blue Buff can spam skills continuously; additionally, damage from Sorcerer’s Hat + Marksman will allow Teemo to deal damage like a true mage.
Next is Jhin, who is somewhat at a disadvantage in this composition because he cannot utilize the Void power, but can still be effective if equipped properly with items like Infinity Edge, Green Bow,… Finally, Vayne can be used as a carry in this composition, replacing Jhin. Suitable items for Vayne will be Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Death’s Dance, and Infinity Edge.
Star Guardian Mage Team Composition
In this composition, you can choose one of the five names Zoe, Syndra, Xerath, Viktor, and Twisted Fate as a carry in the team. Whichever champion you choose, equip suitable items for that champion.
Among those carries, Zoe will be the fun champion to play if you like to experiment with an unorthodox playstyle; otherwise, you should focus on other carry champions. Twisted Fate can carry if he hits 3 stars early with Shojin and Death’s Hand. As for Syndra, since the Blessing Chalice is no longer available, you should limit using Syndra unless you can achieve 3 stars.
Finally, the two strongest carry champions are Xerath with two familiar items, Guinsoo’s Rageblade x2, and Viktor with a unique item setup of Giant Slayer x2 and Spear of Shojin. The reason Viktor uses this item setup is that Giant Slayer in patch 10.12 can increase the percentage of true damage on both basic attacks and skills – those percentage stats combined with Viktor’s skill based on percentage health will result in an astonishing amount of damage.
