The skills remain unchanged from Teamfight Tactics Season 3, but Zed seems to be much weaker when facing other units with burst and area damage. Have you ever felt like flipping the table when Zed 3-star – Full Shadow just takes its sweet time, and by the time he strikes for the fourth time, the enemy team has already dealt a mountain of damage back?
That’s when you think of the Zed Shadow – Spirit composition, as it solves both Zed’s attack speed and survivability issues. This lineup requires level 8 to reach its power threshold, including Evelynn, Zed, Kayn, Ahri, Teemo, Cassiopeia, Kindred, Yuumi. You will need to roll slowly at level 7 to find Zed 3. By combining him with 4 Spirits, he will gain an immense attack speed and a lot of damage from his basic attacks.
As stated, think of this lineup if you find the Champion Zed and have good items for him like Wooden Bow, B.F. Sword. If you love and want to try this composition but luck doesn’t allow you to find Champion Zed early on, that’s fine; it’s not mandatory, as Champion Spirit, Soul Shroud can also work well in combination.
Similar to other compositions, the Zed Shadow team only needs to level up slowly to levels 4, 5, and 6. Starting from level 7, begin looking for Zed and strive to upgrade him to 3 stars.
Nothing is certain in the early game; just utilize what the shop offers to build the safest defensive team possible. Wukong, Teemo, Vayne, and Garen are solid champions at this stage, easy to level up, deal significant damage, and are sturdy, especially easy to gear up. You can choose either Vayne or Wukong to equip items for Zed, both are reasonable options.
In the mid-game, look for additional pieces of the composition like Yuumi, Evelynn, and of course Zed. These champions currently have little competition, so you can find them relatively early, beginning to form the backbone of the lineup once you find the shadow assassin.
With this composition, Ahri will be the first champion to take damage, and the essential item for her is Guardian Angel, which allows her to cast her spell very quickly to increase attack speed. Meanwhile, Zed with a rapidly increasing attack speed from the start will allow him to steal a significant amount of damage from opponents and then proceed to the “one hit one kill” phase against the enemy’s backline.

Strengths of the Composition
Maximizing Zed’s skill power and the passive of the Shadow trait, triggering the third slash continuously. Kayn is also a key player in this composition, as the amount of damage he can deal is extremely high. Yuumi’s “stickiness” and Kindred’s ability to leap and prolong will give Zed more time to amplify his attack power.
Weaknesses of the Composition
Requires the right items for Zed; the final pieces are expensive (Kayn, Ahri, Cassiopeia). This composition is strong when it can eliminate the enemy carry targets early and buy enough time, but it can be countered by Vanguard, Forest Spirits, or simply a well-timed Cyclone.
