Among the champions of Teamfight Tactics season 6.5, Kassadin is considered one of the most underrated units. Losing the Guardian trait has made Kassadin quite weak in terms of tankiness, and players rarely choose him. However, recently, a Challenger player named Akihiro has discovered a way to maximize Kassadin’s power in a rather meta-defying composition called 6 Scholars.

Essentially, this 6 Scholar team’s strategy revolves around not leveling up early in the game and trying to roll for a 3-star Kassadin. After that, you will aim for reaching the 6 Scholar threshold by the end of the game with the Scholar Heart augment or upgrading to Scholar Heart. With Kassadin being buffed by Silco, this unit will perform well as a tank and can prevent opponents from casting spells thanks to the energy gain effect from his ability.
At the beginning of the game, Akihiro advises that you should buy Kassadin, Brand, and as many Yordle units as possible. Kassadin serves as the main tank, and activating the 3 Yordle bonus early will provide players with a significant amount of gold and shorten the time to reach 50 gold. Moreover, having many 1-cost units increases your chances of acquiring Kassadin faster than the usual reroll method.

After you’ve upgraded Kassadin to 3 stars, the next target to “gold” will be Syndra. Additionally, Zyra is also a great option, and you can push both of these Scholar units to 3 stars if you get lucky. It is recommended that you use all 3 Scholar units in your team, as this will increase the chances of obtaining the Scholar Heart augment at the end of stage 3.

By the end of the game, you need to add Silco and Viktor to ensure damage and energy for the team. Simply put, these units are responsible for cleaning up the fight after the other units have cast their spells, repeatedly performing this process. Kassadin at the end of the game will tank much more effectively after receiving Silco’s buff with additional health and crowd control resistance.

Regarding technology augments, Scholar Heart and any augments providing Scholar Emblems are the most important for this composition. Following that, damage-enhancing augments like Gemstone Shard or Luden’s Echo are also very suitable upgrades for the 6 Scholar team. Additionally, upgrades that provide defensive stats for the backline interact well with this composition.
As for the “signature” items, Kassadin primarily needs tank items that provide beneficial effects for the player. Redemption and Stoneplate are the item combo you should aim for Kassadin. The other main carry of this composition will be Syndra with typical AP items like Glacial Gauntlet or sometimes even Rabadon’s Deathcap.
