Teamfight Tactics: Learning the Anivia – Jade Strategy from the Masters

Anivia - Jade is a highly annoying, damage-rich team composition in Teamfight Tactics.

With the strong team compositions of Teamfight Tactics Season 7 gradually emerging, players will face the frustrating situation of competing for core champions. Strong champions like Olaf, Diana, and Xayah are highly contested, making it difficult for players to create a team composition of their choice.

Then, the masters discovered a highly effective strategy that doesn’t overlap with others, using the Jade trait as the core strength. With Anivia’s ability to deal good magical damage and Shi Oh Yu being an extremely strong carry, the Jade composition becomes incredibly annoying by providing significant healing for the entire team. So how can you effectively build this composition? Let’s find out.

In the early game, you can apply a start similar to the 3-star Ezreal team composition by using this champion as your carry. Essentially, Ezreal is a type of champion that holds items extremely well for a magic carry, in this case, Anivia. Therefore, you should focus around this piece for the first 5-6 levels to maintain your health most effectively.

As you progress to the mid-game, your goal remains largely unchanged: continue to maintain health and level up steadily. If you can buy Neeko or Shi Oh Yu early, activating the 6 Jade trait and securing a winning streak will be very easy. Of course, you still need to keep an eye on and buy Anivia as much as possible, but don’t put this champion on the board too early if Ezreal is still effective.

In the late game, you will have many building options depending on which champions you can buy at level 8. If you can get Bard or Yasuo, bring them into play immediately, as these champions will help Shi Oh Yu and Anivia deal great damage. In case you cannot find the two mentioned champions but can buy a 2-star Ornn, you should activate the 2 Dragon trait to gain additional crowd control and support damage for your carries.

Regarding technology cores, upgrades that enhance the Jade trait are a top priority as they help Shi Oh Yu survive very long in fights. Additionally, cores like Static Shock and Luden’s Echo are extremely strong for this composition since Anivia’s ability can reduce magic resistance. Moreover, technology cores that help you acquire strong items for Anivia and Shi Oh Yu are always good choices.

For items, Anivia will use Spear of Shojin, Staff of the Ascended, and one other item of your choice. With the Jade trait’s strong healing, Anivia can survive a long time in battles to stack the Staff of the Ascended. As for Shi Oh Yu, Bloodthirster, Giant Slayer, and a defensive item would be the most reasonable choices for this dragon.
