In the Assassin team of Teamfight Tactics season 6, there are many strong carries like Katarina, Shaco, and Akali. Some compositions like Chemtech and Empire even use Twitch and Talon as primary damage dealers. The common point of the aforementioned teams is that Ekko only plays the role of holding supportive items and buffing attack speed for the remaining units.
However, recently, high-ranked players on the Chinese server discovered a very interesting Ekko carry playstyle. The reason for this playstyle lies in the ability to deal massive damage while still providing strong attack speed buffs from Ekko’s ability, Convergence of the Twin Realms. By equipping items that provide skill damage, Ekko can help both the team and himself deal incredibly high damage.

Just like regular Assassin compositions, you need to ensure that you have a sufficiently tanky frontline to create space for the remaining units to attack the opponent. Darius and any Guardian unit are the perfect start towards building an Assassin team. If you have Ekko early on, you should buy Blitzcrank and Garen in the early game to activate as many trait effects as possible.

Moving into the mid-game, you should purchase Taric and insert him into the lineup as soon as possible. With the advantage of always jumping to the enemy’s backline, the Assassin system can utilize the Idol space very well, regardless of its position on the battlefield. Additionally, you should activate the 4 Assassin effect to increase Ekko’s damage output. It is recommended that you stop at level 7 for a long time and roll for a 3-star Ekko.

By the late game, players need to find Akali and push to the 6 Assassins mark to maximize damage for the team. At this point, you don’t need to worry too much about the frontline units, so you can replace them with Taric and Janna. One small tip is to place Taric in the backline of your formation to draw attention from tank units and stretch the distance from the enemy carry.

As for strong technology cores, you should aim for the Trading Post upgrade to save a significant amount of gold during the reroll process. Additionally, upgrades for Assassins like Smoke Bomb and Assassination are also strong options for this lineup. Moreover, cores that provide items are also very valuable in this composition as you frequently activate the Resurgence effect with Shaco.
In terms of “core” items, Infinity Edge and Rabadon’s Deathcap are essential items for Ekko. They will push Ekko’s damage to the highest level while still helping other Assassin units improve their damage. For the final item slot, the Hand of Justice is a solid choice as this item provides healing and makes Ekko much tankier.
