If you remember, at the beginning of patch 12.12, Volibear and Daeja were overbuffed by Riot Games and became uncontrollable. Therefore, they had to release an emergency patch to nerf these two champions and prevent them from dominating the game.
However, master players have found a very strong build for Daeja by combining her with Guild champions. So how will this composition operate? Let’s find out.

The important thing that Teamfight Tactics players need to remember when using Daeja at the moment is not to build auto-attack-oriented items for her. The reason is that Daeja has had her attack speed and base damage significantly reduced in the aforementioned patch. Instead, Daeja is currently better suited with items that directly increase skill damage to make her “wing flaps” deal more damage.
For the team composition, you should use Ezreal combined with Twitch and Sejuani in the early game to achieve the best damage output. Essentially, Ezreal also benefits from magic damage items, making him a perfect piece to hold items for Daeja. You might also consider adding some Brawler or Guardian champions at level 5 to increase survivability.

In the mid-game, players should try to keep their health as high as possible by adding strong carries like Olaf and Yone to the board. You can even consider switching to a 4 Warrior team in this phase if Yone and Olaf naturally reach 2 stars. If not, don’t rush to sell Ezreal, as he is still a very valuable champion.

After reaching level 8, players should start spending gold and looking to get Daeja to 2 stars as soon as possible. Additionally, adding other high-value Guild champions like Talon and Bard is also very necessary. Another champion you should invest in is Hecarim, as his abilities provide excellent crowd control.

In terms of cybernetic cores, upgrading the Illusory core, which provides the effect of reducing damage taken by Dragon champions by 90%, will make your Nunu and Daeja “tanky” and not afraid of Assassins. Additionally, cores that enhance the Guild trait are also extremely valuable, as Talon serves as a very strong secondary carry.
As mentioned earlier, items that directly increase skill damage are currently very strong for Daeja. Therefore, you should use the Crystal Gauntlet combined with Infinity Edge or Sorcerer’s Hat to maximize her damage output. Furthermore, defensive items that provide healing, such as the Hand of Justice and Bloodthirster, are also great options for Daeja.
