In season 4.5, Aurelion Sol is considered the strongest magic damage dealer in Teamfight Tactics with an incredibly high damage output. Aurelion Sol’s weakness is that it does not fully utilize the effects from the Spirit Tribe due to its relatively low attack speed and health. Therefore, building Aurelion Sol as the main carry of the Spirit team is not advisable. Instead, players should learn the Aurelion Sol – Forest God composition from the top 1 Challenger player in North America.

The operation of this composition is relatively simple with Aurelion Sol being the main carry. Units like Nunu, Ornn, Aatrox, and Rakan will serve as tanks to allow Aurelion Sol to eliminate the enemy team. If you need additional physical damage, Xayah is the strongest choice for the secondary carry position. She just needs the Infinity Edge to deal a significant amount of damage.

Regarding the choice of Chosen units, you will have 3 main paths: Sorcerer Chosen, Forest God, and Guardian. If you have the Forest God Chosen, consider replacing Nunu or Maokai with Sejuani in the composition. While you won’t achieve the 4 Vanguard effect, Sejuani’s wide-area stun is too strong to ignore.

If you have the Sorcerer Chosen, you should replace Aatrox and use Annie in the frontline. Players should consider a slow roll strategy at levels 6-7 to find ways to upgrade Annie to 3 stars as quickly as possible. This playstyle will help your composition deal more damage by reaching the 5 Sorcerers combo.

For Guardian Chosen, you should also replace Aatrox and substitute him with Kennen or Azir. These champions have good crowd control abilities, allowing them to buy time for Aurelion Sol to cast its skills.

Regarding itemization, the most important item for the carry Aurelion Sol is the Hextech Gunblade. Thanks to the durability of the Forest God, Aurelion Sol can cast its skills multiple times. Therefore, the healing ability of the Hextech Gunblade is essential for this unit to continue surviving on the field and casting its skills even more. The other two item slots should be filled with either Guardian Angel, Infinity Edge, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Shojin Spear, or Blue Buff.

Rakan is an important frontline champion in the mid-game, so players need to equip this unit with a certain amount of items. Sunfire Cape and Ionic Spark are the most suitable items for Rakan. If possible, players should equip Rakan with Rapid Firecannon in the mid-game. This unit’s skill will help Rakan dash and control opponents from the furthest distance within attack range. Equipping Rapid Firecannon to Rakan will increase the number of enemy champions that this piece can apply crowd control effects to.
For Xayah, you should equip her with Infinity Edge to quickly increase her damage output. Alternatively, items that provide critical strike chance such as Infinity Edge or Giant Slayer are also very suitable for Xayah.
