If you remember, in the introduction video for Season 5 of Teamfight Tactics, the Dragon Tribe was the first race announced by Riot. It was thought that this meant the Dragon Tribe would possess overwhelming power and dominate the meta, but the reality has proven that this race is simply too weak. According to the expert site Tftactics.gg, the Dragon Tribe is rated as the worst race in the game. In fact, according to statistics from Metatft.com, teams using 5 Dragon Tribe champions have extremely poor performance metrics.

The biggest weakness that the Dragon Tribe faces is that this race does not provide any damage or defense stats for the champions. All the Dragon Tribe can do is help players upgrade their teams faster through the eggs. Therefore, when players reach the mid and late-game stages, the Dragon Tribe always finds itself lacking damage or sufficient durability.

Furthermore, to reach the threshold of 5 Dragon Tribe champions, you must have Heimerdinger, which costs a steep 5 gold. Thus, the ability to increase the power of Dragon Tribe teams is significantly delayed in the mid-game, as players need a lot of time and gold to reach level 8 and roll for Heimerdinger. This will make players very likely to lose matches and lose a lot of health; in many cases, you may not find Heimerdinger before being eliminated from the game.

Basically, in the current meta, players rolling a lot at levels 6-7 will find it very easy to upgrade their teams. At that point, the pace of the match will pick up significantly, and teams that require players to save gold to level up, like the Dragon Tribe, will face many difficulties during this phase. You will have almost no chance to maintain health or achieve win streaks while using the Dragon Tribe.

Not only is the Dragon Tribe itself struggling, but important champions within the team are also fiercely contested in the current meta. Sett is a prime example, as this piece is used too much in Brawler teams and is often contested. Meanwhile, Heimerdinger already has a relatively strong damage output, so many players are chasing after him. In fact, he has proven to be even more effective in teams outside the Dragon Tribe, making this race increasingly neglected.

Essentially, the Dragon Tribe is in a situation quite similar to the Fortune God in Season 4, as neither provides direct stats or power-boosting effects for the team. As a result, players can easily lose matches and be eliminated early, regardless of whether they have completed their teams or not. Perhaps players should only view the Dragon Tribe as a “for fun” team and not use it for climbing the ranks.
