There’s a truth that every time Teamfight Tactics releases a new patch, players often aim to build a perfect team composition, dreaming of the ideal team comps and thinking that this is the only way to win. However, this “auto chess” game is not just about having the strongest team compositions but also includes super strong units that can carry the whole team by themselves.

In Season 1, we had Draven, Jinx, or even the trend of stacking items on Volibear. Season 2 saw Riot reduce this significantly, but in Season 3, the super carries like Jinx, Jhin, and especially Kayle have made a comeback. With the angelic Kayle, as long as she has the right items and a sturdy frontline, she can “fan the world”. And the most reliable frontline right now is always the Vanguard champions.
Building the Team Composition
In the early game, you don’t need to focus too much on purchasing the exact units for the composition right away. Just use what the shop gives you and maintain as much health as possible. Ideally, you will have 2 Vanguard units as your foundation, followed by some cheap yet quality champions like Graves and Lucian to deal damage.

By the mid-game, you should aim to build a strong enough frontline with as many 2-star Vanguard units as possible. If you’re lucky, you might find a 1-star Kayle early on. If you need gold, you can use Darius or Graves combined with Jayce for more Scoundrel synergy, or alternatively a Kai’Sa to provide the Divine buff for Kayle, which is also very good. The most important thing at this stage is to save as much gold as possible because this composition really needs level 8.

By the late game, you should swap one of the 1-cost units, Poppy or Leona, for Wukong, as he provides better crowd control as a Vanguard. Then, add Shen + 1 more Duelist to activate the 3 Duelist combo for maximum buff to Kayle. If you have the resources, you can play Miss Fortune; otherwise, Kai’Sa is also a decent option, but don’t force her to upgrade to 3 stars.

Building Items
Starting with the Vanguard frontline, your main tanks need items that provide both damage and survivability. The most essential item is the Storm Bow, which enhances their own damage while significantly boosting Kayle’s damage from the backline. For Wukong, he needs pure tank items and those that apply debuffs to enemies; Dragon Claw, Warmog’s Armor, or Morello’s Evil Tome are the best items for this monkey.

For your carry, Kayle, two essential items are Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Infinity Edge; they provide attack speed and damage over time, allowing her to “fan” even harder. For the third item, you can consider either defensive or damage items like Trap Claw, Quicksilver if the opponent uses Blitzcrank, or Infinity Edge if you want to maximize damage.
