The 6 Ice Clan composition was once very powerful due to its ability to “freeze to death,” which prompted Riot to immediately nerf this composition. It wasn’t until version 10.4 that they decided to bring the Ice Clan back with a balance adjustment.
Although still not very popular, the 6 Ice Clan composition is gradually proving its strength thanks to its ability to inflict very annoying effects when combined with Poison, and it deals significant damage, especially in the early and mid-game phases.
Compared to earlier versions, the rate of stunning targets has been significantly reduced even at the activation thresholds of (4) or (6). However, at (2), the Ice Clan at the start of the game has received a substantial buff, increasing from 20% to 25%, along with a considerable amount of damage in the early game.
Below is a detailed guide on how to build the Ice Clan composition combined with Poison at each stage of the game.
Early Game Phase
In the most favorable conditions, you can activate 4 Ice Clan champions as early as level 5, and you will want to use Ornn from the start because Ornn is very easy to upgrade to 2-star and is incredibly strong in the early game alongside Volibear.
Besides Guardian/Lightning, Ice Clan also has Warwick, a very strong Beast champion who dominates in the early game. Just activate 3 Beasts and have 1-2 Ice Clan champions at level 5, and your composition will be very strong.
Mid Game Phase
The moment of round 4.1 is crucial because after the Wolf round, you will know whether you have enough luck to obtain the Super Spatula or not, as you will need the Ice Hammer to activate the full (6) Ice Clan composition, which is the strongest setup.
And whether you have the Super Spatula or not, make sure to roll heavily after finishing the Wolf round to form a composition at level 7 with (4) Ice Clan and (3) Poison. Also, remember to buy Warwick to complete (6) Ice Clan if possible.
If you don’t have the Super Spatula, during your rolling process, you can buy Rage Warriors and shift to (6) Rage Warriors when you reach level 8. If you have the Super Spatula, aim for Ice Hammer equipment for Twitch.
Late Game Phase
This is the complete composition once you have achieved (6) Ice Clan. Make sure to equip Singed with the Morello’s Evil Tome so he can deal the best damage while effectively countering strong healing compositions like Light.
In case you don’t have the Super Spatula and cannot roll for Ice Clan Lux after the Wolf round, consider this composition and adapt once you reach level 8. However, it will be quite weak as you will need to accumulate a lot of gold to maintain Rage Warriors and upgrade them to 2-star.
The Ice Clan is a composition that inflicts very annoying effects, and you could be lucky enough to disable essential champions of the enemy team like Sion, Yasuo, Amumu, Taric, etc. This is a very promising composition if you have a favorable start with many Ice Clan champions.
