Teamfight Tactics: Discover the ‘Game-Changing Composition with Just 4 Shots’ – Jhin – Mystique

Jhin is designed to be a strong carry in Teamfight Tactics Season 3, but for some reason, players seem to forget this super carry.

Why Jhin and Mystique?

In the current Teamfight Tactics meta, most players have two main playstyles: either stopping at levels 6-7 to roll for 3-star units or leveling up to 8-9 to acquire strong 5-cost champions. As a result, late-game super units like Gangplank, Miss Fortune, or 3-cost carries like Shaco are highly contested. Meanwhile, the competition for 4-cost champions is much lower, allowing carries that can be upgraded early, like Jhin, to shine.

Furthermore, Jhin does not require attack speed but rather needs a strong frontline and healing capabilities to unleash his devastating fourth shot. Therefore, the Mystique + Guardian + Cosmic composition is exceptionally suitable for protecting Jhin, not to mention having Ashe from the Marksman class, allowing this Deadly Artist to deal massive damage while remaining quite safe.

Building the Composition

As mentioned above, this composition is a variant of Guardian – Mystique, so the early game units you should focus on acquiring are Guardians. Jarvan IV, Xin Zhao, or Rakan are the units you want to have during this phase; for damage, using Xayah or Caitlyn is a solid choice. A little tip is to funnel items like Infinity Edge, Blue Bow, or Guinsoo’s Rageblade onto Caitlyn early, as she can hold onto those items for Ashe and Jhin later on.

In the mid-game, typically at level 6, you need to add two extremely important units: Neeko and Ashe. They will trigger the first power spike of this composition, which is 4 Guardians and 2 Marksmen, giving you a significant amount of damage and decent defensive capabilities from the Guardian units. If you’re lucky or pick up Jhin in the shared draft round, you can replace Caitlyn with him.

At the end of the game, after level 8, the most crucial addition is to include 2 Mystique units, ideally Karma and Lulu, as they activate two excellent combos: 3 Shadow and 4 Cosmic, which help your composition heal better and increase Jhin’s damage output. If you have a strong early game and secure a long winning streak, you can comfortably level up to 9 and add Gangplank or Miss Fortune to your composition, rest assured that these two carries are incredibly strong and worth the investment.

Positioning the Composition

For other compositions, this section may not be very critical, but for this Jhin Marksman team, it becomes a vital issue. In most cases, you will arrange according to the basic composition mentioned above; however, when facing special compositions like Rebels or variations of Assassins, it becomes much more complicated.

First, when facing an Assassin composition or any team that uses Shaco, protecting your carry is essential. Therefore, do not leave Ashe and Jhin exposed at the sides or front, as the opponent’s Assassins will jump in. The optimal positioning is to push the two Marksman units to the corners of your formation, with the defensive line right next being 2 Mystique units, and then place your Guardian units on the outer rim. Remember to position Neeko in the middle of the 4 Guardians; this unit can stun wide areas to hold the enemy carries in place.

Finally, when dealing with a Rebel composition, the most annoying aspect is Aurelion Sol. This champion’s movement pattern involves flying to the nearest empty space near an enemy unit, so to maintain distance and take down this spaceship, you must follow the previous method – place the two Marksman units in the corners to maximize damage. You need to observe the opponent’s formation closely; if they position their units on the left, then place your formation skewed to the right to maximize distance and damage.

As long as Rakan and Neeko control the rest of the Rebel team, there will be enough time for Jhin and Ashe to take down Aurelion Sol's spaceship
