If you pay a little attention, the dominant meta in Teamfight Tactics for patch 12.19 is to use as many Dragon Gods as possible. The reason is that the Dragon God effect has been continuously buffed recently, making compositions centered around it stronger than ever.

To counter this playstyle, many experts have turned to Yone as an optimal solution. Essentially, Yone is a very powerful champion in terms of damage output starting from level 2 stars, creating significant pressure on the Dragon God playstyle that requires saving gold and leveling up consistently. When combined with the range increase effect from the Marksman trait, Yone becomes nearly unstoppable.

So how can you build an effective Yone – Marksman composition? The first condition is that you must acquire Yone early to determine your playstyle and equipment combination. After obtaining Yone, you can supplement your lineup with Twitch, Sejuani, and Wukong to ensure both damage output and defensive effects.

One important note is that you should not sell Twitch but rather keep this champion in your lineup for as long as possible. This is because not activating the 2 Marksman trait will increase players’ chances of obtaining the trait emblem during the technology core selection phase. Thus, you won’t need to have a Gold Spatula (an item that is quite rare) to effectively run this composition.
Similar to other 2-gold core compositions, you will want to stay at level 6 as long as possible to increase the chances of upgrading Yone to 3 stars. You should also consider replacing Wukong with Olaf, and adding Leona and Braum to bolster the frontline champions’ durability.

As you enter the late game (after level 8), what you need to do is add Varus and Xayah to your composition. Although they may not deal too much damage, they will activate the 4 Marksman trait, making Yone extremely powerful.

Regarding core technology choices, upgrades that grant a Marksman emblem are what you should pick up as soon as possible. Additionally, the Sniper Lens core is also a good choice as it helps Yone increase his attack range. If you manage to get the Silver Arrow core at the end of the game, achieving a top 1 position is within reach.

For itemization, in addition to the Marksman emblem, players need to equip Yone with a Guinsoo’s Rageblade to ensure damage output. For the third item slot, items like Giant Slayer, Infinity Edge, or Bloodthirster are all good options. Additionally, you should also consider crafting a Zeke’s Herald to provide more attack speed for Yone and other Marksman champions.
