In the current meta of Teamfight Tactics, many players enjoy leveraging powerful champion duos as they occupy fewer slots on the board and can unleash incredible strength when positioned close together, making them very convenient for maintaining health or securing win streaks.

Here are some of the super strong champion duos currently favored in the meta:

Rakan + Xin Zhao

Rakan and Xin Zhao are among the few champion duos in Teamfight Tactics that share both Tribe and System, allowing this pair to activate 2 passives quite early, creating a “framework” for many team compositions. Especially, both champions have single-target and multi-target knock-ups, making them a solid temporary frontline.

In the current meta, this duo is most commonly used in the Mystic Guardian composition and (temporarily) in the Gunner Machine Gunner composition.

Lucian + Graves

Red Buff or Guinsoo’s Rageblade are excellent items that maximize Gunner’s power.

This is one of the most popular duos in season 3, regardless of the pre or post mid-season patch. The reason is that this duo has a strong damage and skill output in the early game, combined with their ability to deal area effects, with Red Buff, these 2 Gunners can help you secure win streaks until mid-game.

In terms of composition, this duo can be used alongside several Tribes and Systems such as Cybernetics, Vanguard, Brawlers, Guardians,…

Thresh + Urgot

This duo is quite unique as they will not both stand on the main board; Urgot will wait to be pulled down with Thresh’s skill. In the current meta, many players prefer 2-star Thresh with a combination of Shojin’s Spear and Guinsoo’s Rageblade, with this combo, as soon as the match starts, Thresh hits once and immediately pulls Urgot down. Once Urgot is pulled down, he doesn’t need to attack and can use his skill as soon as he lands.

Therefore, you need to stockpile as many Urgot champions on the bench as possible, because each pull of Urgot by Thresh equates to 1 enemy being eliminated. Additionally, this duo does not require any activation, so it is used a lot in the late game to pull enemy carry champions with full items.

Cassiopeia + Darius

Recently, Cassiopeia has completely dominated the meta as a carry in both the Mystic Guardian and Mystic Vanguard compositions. To maximize Cassiopeia’s power in the early game, Darius is the most suitable champion. In the early game, Cassiopeia spams skills so that the entire enemy team is brought to low health, allowing Darius to “last hit” with Noxus Guillotine, earning a lot of gold if the Bandit activation is achieved.

Jinx + Urgot

Urgot is Jinx's best assistant in the current meta.

This is the most dangerous duo in Gunner compositions in patch 10.12. Because when equipped with an energy item like Blue Buff or Shojin’s Spear, after 1-2 attacks, Urgot can pull the prey in and eliminate them in an instant. When placed next to Jinx, just a few seconds into the fight, Jinx will immediately activate her passive, allowing her to devastate the enemy team with her massive damage.
