Since season 6, Talon has been known as a powerful carry with an incredible burst damage and great sustain. In Teamfight Tactics season 6.5, Talon has been changed to an Elegant champion, and this has made him even stronger with the support of other powerful units. So how can we effectively use the Talon – Elegant composition? Let’s find out.

Basically, the prerequisite for this composition is to acquire Talon early to ensure damage in the early game. You can use Twitch or Nocturne alongside Talon to activate the 2 Assassin trait early. For the frontline, units like Darius or Poppy are top choices right now as physical damage compositions are very popular.

In the mid-game, you should prioritize activating the 3 Elegant trait rather than bringing in more Assassin units. Remember that VIP Talon will make his skill damage true damage, which already gives this unit a huge potential to eliminate targets. Therefore, champions like Leona and Syndra should be top shopping priorities alongside Talon before considering more Assassin units.
By focusing on playing around Talon, you should adopt a slowroll strategy at level 6 to maximize the chance of rolling 2-cost champions. However, if you’re too “unlucky” and can’t roll Talon to 3 stars before stage 5, you might want to consider leveling up to level 8 and switching to Kha’Zix as the carry. You also don’t need to worry too much about wasting items, as Talon at 2 stars with the VIP effect still has a significant amount of damage.

As you approach the late game, what you need to do is complete the 4 Assassin trait with Ekko and Kha’Zix. Ekko is a particularly important unit as it provides a significant attack speed boost for the Assassins to deal more damage. Additionally, you can add Blitzcrank to the composition to achieve the Recycler trait with Ekko to increase the durability of your carries.

Regarding the choice of tech cores, the upgrade you should own the most is the VVIP, as it will provide Talon with a significant amount of health whenever an allied Elegant champion is defeated. Additionally, the Smoke Bomb core is also very suitable for this composition as Talon and Kha’Zix generally have poor defenses. You could even opt for the Defensive Formation core with the effect of increasing defensive stats for the backline to ensure the Assassins in your team survive as long as possible.
When it comes to item building, Infinity Edge is clearly the best item for Talon specifically and Assassins in general. Additionally, Rapid Firecannon and Quicksilver will allow Talon to deal damage from a much safer distance. If you have many items and want to play Kha’Zix as a carry as well, the Infinity Force is the best item for this unit alongside Infinity Edge.
