Dragon Guardian
After being significantly weakened in patch 12.13, Shi Oh Yu specifically and the Dragon Guardian composition in general have become extremely weak and no longer favored. However, with the release of patch 12.14, everything has completely changed; in fact, the Dragon Guardian composition is now one of the most contested compositions, boasting a ranking point gain rate of up to 61.2%. This makes Dragon Guardian the best composition to climb the ranks at the moment.

This change comes from the significant power boost given to Shi Oh Yu at levels 1 and 2 stars when the basic attack damage and the interaction rate with this stat of the ability have been increased. As a result, owning Shi Oh Yu early will provide you with an extremely strong carry who can effectively “carry the game.” This allows players to accumulate a lot of gold and have additional options in the late game, such as using 3-star Anivia, Yasuo, or Bard to close out the game or switching to play Ao Shin or Aurelion Sol at level 9.
Dragon – Mage
Patch 12.14 has introduced a series of significant changes aimed at physical carries, and the biggest victim is undoubtedly the Assassin units. Even the nerf to Olaf has made this playstyle much worse in patch 12.14, so compositions that utilize multiple backline carries will have a much easier time. A prime example is the Dragon – Mage composition, as most units in this composition are ranged champions.

Essentially, the Dragon – Mage playstyle in patch 12.14 will leverage the immense damage output of Aurelion Sol to secure victories. Therefore, you must reach the 6 Dragon threshold to maximize your skill damage stats. Meanwhile, the Mage trait serves as a support system, with Nami providing healing while Sylas and Vladimir play the tank role. A small note is that you should use Lulu when playing this composition to provide crowd control and energy for Aurelion Sol.
Illusion Dragon – Knight
If you have ever used this composition, you would know that Daeja is the only backline champion in the setup. Therefore, when facing Assassin players, your carry is very vulnerable to being taken down early, resulting in a serious damage deficit. However, with the release of patch 12.14, this is no longer the case, as mentioned earlier, the Assassin units have been heavily nerfed, allowing Daeja to “thrive” in the current version.

Moreover, a series of strong Illusion Dragon variants, such as Blade Master and Spell Blade, have been buffed, making Daeja and other carries incredibly powerful. Remember that in previous versions, Illusion Dragon faced significant issues with the power disparity between variants, with Warrior and Duelist being overwhelmingly strong. However, this has been somewhat resolved, helping Illusion Dragon to become a strong composition in most matches.
