Twitch Hyper-Roll
If you’ve noticed, with Riot Games reducing the appearance rate of 5-cost champions at level 8, a series of compositions relying on this type of unit have weakened significantly. In particular, compositions that depend on 4-cost 2-star carries but also rely on 5-cost support units like Jhin – Guardian (Yuumi), Sorcerer (Yuumi)… This has led Teamfight Tactics players to roll much earlier than before, even hyper-rolling to push 1-cost champions to 3 stars.

Among them, the composition revolving around Twitch, Singed, and 1-cost units exemplifies this trend. Currently, the Twitch hyper-roll composition boasts a 53% chance of finishing in the top 4 despite a pick rate of only about 0.13. To maximize Twitch’s damage output, Infinity Edge and Bow of the Green are essential items. Runaan’s Hurricane is also a good option, while Quicksilver is a necessary defensive choice if the opponent has too much crowd control.
Trundle Reroll
This is also a type of composition that benefits from the reduced appearance rate of 5-cost champions as you will reroll a lot at level 6 to get Trundle to 3 stars. While the Recycler trait features Jinx as a 5-cost champion, you can easily activate the 6 Recycler threshold without needing this unit, so Riot’s update doesn’t negatively impact this team composition. Not to mention, you will have a significant shield amount in the mid-game for the entire team to fend off those hot area damage champions.

Additionally, Trundle is an excellent counter unit against a currently popular composition, Challenger. Typically, Trundle will face these units directly, allowing him to significantly reduce the opponent’s damage output and attack speed. Clearly, when facing champions like Yone and Fiora, Trundle is an excellent choice, ensuring durability while dealing damage and countering opponents extremely well in the mid to late game.
6 Assassins
Although they haven’t been completely pushed out of the meta, the popularity of the 6 Assassins team has decreased significantly after patch 12.1. This is because the 5 Gang composition became too powerful in the previous patch and contested the best carries like Shaco and Akali with the 6 Assassins composition. Even if you take Talon as the carry, you face stiff competition from Empire players. However, this has decreased considerably since both Gang and Empire were heavily nerfed in patch 12.2.

As a result, while some champions may have weakened slightly, the essence of the Assassin composition remains incredibly strong in eliminating backline carries. Moreover, this composition is very suitable for the early reroll meta, as the strongest units (Talon, Shaco, Ekko) are all priced at 2-3 gold, and you can roll right from level 6-7. The reduction in the appearance rate of 5-cost champions at level 8 will make it difficult for many to complete their compositions and become easy targets for the Assassin team.
