Reinforcements
If you pay a little attention, you’ll notice that in Teamfight Tactics Season 6.5, 3-cost champions play a crucial role in building your team composition. Most of the 3-cost champions this season will serve as core units or provide strong support for the final team. Therefore, having access to 3-cost champions early on will help players determine their team composition and have a much clearer direction in terms of itemization and positioning.

Among the new augments added in Season 6.5, Reinforcements will significantly enhance your team composition as it provides up to 4 units of 3-cost champions. This gives you many options to “pivot” based on the units you receive; if you’re lucky enough, you could even have a 2-star 3-cost champion very early in the game. Even if you don’t get your desired champions, this augment also grants a considerable amount of gold.
Stunning Strike
It seems that with the recent additions to Teamfight Tactics, the Assault system has been given incredibly powerful augments by Riot Games. Among them, Stunning Strike is the strongest augment you can acquire early on, as it allows Assault champions to stun opponents for 1.5 seconds with their basic attacks. Indeed, combining this augment with champions that can wield the Infinity Edge will continuously incapacitate your opponents.

The overpowered aspect of this augment lies in the fact that it is part of a system that has many strong core champions like Assault. Additionally, this system also possesses another augment that provides a 75% critical strike chance after every 2 attacks; when combined, the Assault system will have an incredibly strong early game phase, regardless of whether items are present. Of course, this augment is only strong when playing an Assault composition, so if you have Jarvan IV or Rek’Sai early on, the above upgrade is an extremely powerful choice.
Treasure Planet
As mentioned earlier, having 3-cost champions early in Season 6.5 is always a significant advantage for players because it makes building your composition much easier. Naturally, you won’t always have the Reinforcements augment, so players can also consider opting to upgrade to Treasure Planet to acquire more 3-cost units. Of course, this augment carries a higher “luck” factor since you have to open reward chests, but it remains an effective tool to gain additional resources.

Moreover, the blue chests can also provide items or even more 3-cost champions. Therefore, the Treasure Planet augment is always a good choice in any situation, whether you need items, champions, or haven’t yet determined the composition you want to build. Additionally, in terms of gold value, the Treasure Planet augment usually provides players with 7-8 gold, which is an impressive amount in the early game, making it hard to pass up this upgrade.
