Knight – Gunner
This composition operates quite simply, where the Knight units in the front line shield four Gunner units dealing damage. With a cost of 4 gold and the ultimate skill “Culling” dealing massive damage while continuously triggering the Gunner effect, Lucian is a very strong carry you should invest in. The items you should aim for Lucian are Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Bloodthirster, or Death’s Sword; additionally, Infinity Edge is always a good choice in the upcoming Season 5.5.
For building the composition, you should start with the duo Senna and Tristana along with 1-2 frontline tanks. Then, in the mid-game, you will replace the frontline units with Knight champions like Nautilus and Thresh to ensure defensive capability. By the end of the game, Galio is an important tank unit to create space for the backline to deal damage. If you are lucky enough to get the Knight emblem, you should give it to Rell as soon as possible.
Aphelios and Friends
In Season Teamfight Tactics 5.5, Aphelios has received a significant buff in damage output with the skill “Moonlight Guiding.” Therefore, this champion will no longer depend on the 4 Marksman threshold since attack speed does not help much in Aphelios’ damage output. Instead, adding defensive effects from Ivern, Rell, and Gwen will be much more effective in protecting Aphelios to unleash his skills.
Of course, to have enough gold to obtain the expensive units mentioned above, you need to select strong champions early in the game to maintain your health. It is advised to use Varus as the main carry in the early game with Celestial units to supplement defense stats. Moreover, Varus is a champion that can effectively use Aphelios’ “core” items like Spear of Shojin and Bloodthirster, so players don’t have to worry about item loss when pivoting their composition.
Sentinel – Warrior
The dominance of this composition allows you to snowball the match very early as both Olaf and Irelia are Sentinel – Warrior champions. It is recommended to build Giant Slayer for Irelia at this stage as it interacts very well with the damage reduction effect from her “Challenger’s Dance” skill. Once you reach 2 stars, Irelia can deal good damage and sustain well with this build.
In the late game, completing the 6 Warrior composition with champions like Jax and Viego is essential for your victory. Additionally, you should purchase Yasuo to activate the Legion and Mage effects for Irelia and Lee Sin. This will help the Warrior composition improve its damage output in the late game, especially if your Jax lacks strong “core” items.
