Assault
The simple effects and approachable mechanics are perhaps the greatest strengths of this composition in Teamfight Tactics, as it allows players to easily utilize Assault units effectively. Moreover, the direct additional attack damage stats mean that Assault champions can deal significant damage at any time, whether they have items or not. Therefore, in every match, Assault is always a good choice for building a team comp if other team comps are being contested.

What makes the Assault team difficult to counter is that it has two extremely powerful 4-cost carries, Irelia and Sivir. Therefore, when one of these champions is contested by opponents, players can utilize the remaining unit as the carry without worrying about a lack of damage. In fact, Irelia and Sivir can both effectively use the two critical items, Infinity Edge and Giant Slayer, making it incredibly easy to switch carries within the Assault team.
Elegant
While the Assault team has two alternate carries, the Elegant composition boasts four champions in this role. For physical damage carry, you can use Talon or Draven, while for magical damage carry, Syndra or Brand are also excellent choices. In addition to these four names, Zeri becomes an extremely reliable option in the late game with her ability to deal damage across multiple targets.

Of course, in real matches, you should only choose one of the mentioned names, usually the VIP unit that fits the items you currently have. Experience from the Korean Challenger player – T1 Bebe872 suggests that when playing the Elegant team, you shouldn’t overly prioritize the number of champions or activation thresholds. As long as you activate and have the VIP effect, the Elegant team is already very strong. Therefore, you can be flexible in choosing support units with crowd control or healing effects when playing this team comp.
Challenger
If you noticed, in the recent 12.5b patch, Riot Games nerfed a series of 2-3 cost units that had immense damage potential at 3-star level. Consequently, after the 12.5b update, the pace of matches has slightly lengthened, and compositions that require time to scale up, like Challenger, have become significantly stronger. Besides the level of champions, this system also features champions that grow stronger the longer they stay in combat, like Warwick, Tryndamere, and Kai’Sa.

The possession of multiple carries capable of carrying the team makes the Challenger team very difficult to contest for key units. Moreover, this system has not had any standout features in recent patches, making it unlikely for you to have your Challenger carries contested. Therefore, if you can secure Camille and 2-star Warwick early on, you should aim for the Challenger composition, as it is easy to use, fits the meta, and will help you reach the top 4 quite simply.
