(Nation) - Teamfight Tactics players should not use the following compositions to climb ranks at the end of season 9.

Kayle – Butcher

Fairly speaking, Kayle – Butcher is a very strong composition in Teamfight Tactics tournaments thanks to its relatively good top 1 rate. However, this composition is not very effective in ranked environments, with Kayle – Butcher’s top 4 rate being only 45.2% (statistics from Metatft.com). Therefore, players should avoid using this composition to climb ranks at the moment.

With the requirement for players to upgrade at least 3 champions to 3 stars, Kayle – Butcher demands a lot of luck when building the composition. Moreover, Teamfight Tactics players also need to find enough gold to level up to 9 and unlock Kayle’s full power. These are all conditions that are extremely difficult to achieve in solo ranked environments.

Yasuo – Ionia

Theoretically, Yasuo is an extremely suitable champion for the current playstyle of Teamfight Tactics. Players can use this unit as the main carry at level 7, and Yasuo can also reach the backline of the opponent. However, Yasuo’s instability has caused this composition to have only a 45% top rate according to statistics from Metatft.com.

Yasuo’s weakness is that his skill, Blade Dance, always prioritizes attacking the direction with the most enemy champions. As long as the opponent is perceptive and places their backline carries in a position with fewer allies, they can avoid being attacked by Yasuo. Perhaps if players cannot upgrade Yasuo and the Ionia composition to 2 stars early, they should avoid using this playstyle in Teamfight Tactics.

Aphelios – Marksman

Although considered a very strong carry, Aphelios, when combined with the Marksman playstyle and traditional Freljord, proves to be ineffective. This composition currently has a modest top 4 rate of 44.3% (statistics from Metatft.com). Meanwhile, combining Aphelios with the 4 or 6 Marksman trait appears to be much stronger.

The traditional 4 Marksman composition is no longer effective at the end of season 9

Essentially, Aphelios is a champion with relatively strong independent damage output. For this character to be effective, Teamfight Tactics players need to build a sufficiently strong frontline. Using multiple Marksman champions actually takes up space that could be used for tank units, thus reducing Aphelios’ damage output significantly.

Conclusion

With numerous issues regarding playstyle and composition building, the Kayle – Butcher, Yasuo – Ionia, and Aphelios – Marksman compositions prove to be ineffective for climbing ranks at the end of the season. If players feel they truly have enough luck, they may consider building the aforementioned compositions at this time.
