In the previous article, we pointed out 5 basic mistakes that low-ranked players often make based on the analysis of a Grandmaster player. Below, we will continue to highlight the errors that low-ranked players typically encounter when playing Teamfight Tactics.
6. Always trying to upgrade too many champions to 3-star, which leads to losing too much income.

To upgrade a champion to 3-star, it depends heavily on criteria such as the amount of gold owned, health, current level, and most importantly, luck. Many players have missed the opportunity to reach the top 1 by spending all their saved gold on rolling for unimportant champions to 3-star or being greedy for champions that are hard to achieve this level like 4-5 gold champions.
Currently, aside from the Beastmaster composition that uses many 3-star champions, other compositions should retain gold and level up if conditions are not favorable.
7. Always aiming for a specific composition right from the first rounds.

Many players always want to aim for a specific composition, such as when picking up Yasuo with a B.F. Sword in the shop round, they will only focus on building around Yasuo, such as Bladesinger/Sand/Nocturne and overlook all other opportunities from 2-star champions of different compositions that can be purchased early in the game.
Therefore, always try to identify if you can buy any early 2-star champions; use them to preserve health and set the foundation for building your composition from there.
8. Selling 2-star champions to combine items for a 1-star main champion.
Although 4-5 gold champions have superior strength, they may not be stronger than lower-tier champions that have reached 2-star.
For example, if you are playing a Marksman composition with a 2-star Ezreal using strong items like Statikk Shiv and Giant Slayer, selling him to get items as soon as you have a 1-star Ashe may not necessarily make your team stronger, which will weaken your team before it reaches its full potential.
9. Underestimating Mystics.

The source of damage in TFT is largely magic damage; even compositions that use many auto-attacks like Light still have considerable magic damage. Therefore, having (2) to (4) Mystics in your composition when you have extra slots is always effective.
And aside from Master Yi, all Mystic champions have skills that provide protection or create very good crowd control effects. Consider whether to use more or fewer Mystic champions in your composition based on the match situation towards the end of the game.
10. Holding too many 3-gold champions in the early rounds of the game.
Even if you have determined to play a Beastmaster composition, holding onto a 3-gold champion like Dr. Mundo while still at level 3 will cause you to miss out on the opportunity to accumulate a lot of gold, as you won’t be able to use this champion until you reach level 5-6 much later.
Therefore, in the early game, if you are not immediately using them, you should sell the 3-gold champions instead of holding onto them, wasting money on champions you may not use in your future composition.
Conclusion: Although “the river and mountains are hard to change, the nature is hard to change”, these mistakes have become habits in our gameplay. However, if you remember to correct these habits, your low rank can improve significantly over time.
