If you are a long-time League of Legends player, you will notice a common situation where players tend to blame others, especially teammates, whenever they lose a match. Essentially, with high egos, League of Legends players will never accept the reality that they played poorly and will only find ways to blame others.

Therefore, recognizing one’s own mistakes and improving them is something that seems easy but is extremely difficult for League of Legends players. In fact, in a conversation with Inven Global, T1’s young top-laner Zeus stated that not blaming teammates is the secret to “carrying” and helps him play better. Zeus also admitted that he learned this from veteran Nuguri through live streams and tournaments.

“I want to be a top laner who can continuously improve myself and adapt to every role my teammates need. I have watched many matches of Nuguri to learn. As a fellow top laner, I am truly inspired by the idea of how I will progress instead of blaming my teammates. That is the secret to performing well in every match, even carrying the team to victory, and I am doing that.

Nuguri also impresses me immensely with how he plays like a gentleman in the top lane, extremely fair. He never hesitates to face opponents head-on,” Zeus shared.

After all, gamers are human too, and we cannot play League of Legends perfectly 100% of the time. Even professional players often make mistakes, so it is completely normal for Gold, Silver… ranked players to make errors. Nevertheless, to improve skill level, players need to set aside their egos to honestly recognize mistakes and fix them.

Many players reading this may argue that playing League of Legends is “all about having fun,” so why take it too seriously? But my friend, League of Legends is a game where the winner is the one who enjoys it the most. If you do not take it seriously to improve yourself, how can you consistently achieve victory?
