T1 Still Dominates Views but a Representative from Vietnamese Esports Surprises

A name from Vietnamese Esports quietly enters the top views while T1 continues to dominate completely.

In the world of League of Legends and Esports in general, if we talk about the most captivating team, many would immediately think of T1. Despite going through many ups and downs or even having not-so-great results, T1 remains the most attention-grabbing name whenever they compete. In all view count rankings of tournaments T1 participates in, if Faker and his teammates do not completely dominate the top 5 most viewed matches, they will still top the list, and the view count is almost always significantly higher than the second match right after.

Recently, according to view count statistics for the week in mid-June 2024 (from June 17 to June 23), T1 continues to completely dominate the rankings of the statistics site Eschart. Specifically, the first two matches with 837,730 views and 828,311 views respectively belong to T1. Interestingly, the match against the significantly weaker opponent Kwangdong Freecs garnered more views than the match that was more “evenly matched” between T1 and Dplus KIA. This indicates that LCK and Riot may truly have to “depend on” T1 for a long time. The match between the reigning champion Gen.G and KT Rolster barely made it into the top 5 with 403,842 views, lower than some matches from other game genres.

Notably, a representative from Vietnam has made it onto this ranking with a result just behind T1’s two matches. This is the confrontation between Saigon Phantom and ONE Team. This is quite a surprising achievement as SGP usually does not perform well on the international stage.

However, this also shows that Vietnamese Esports representatives can still create an attraction for the international community. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that Vietnamese Esports still needs significant improvement, especially in terms of professionalism, rather than just relying on surprises if they want to develop further in the future.
