On the match day of May 22 (Vietnam time) of MSI 2022, several surprises unfolded. Among them, the biggest shock was G2 Esports – the only undefeated team until this match day – finally suffering a defeat. However, the team that defeated the “Central Circus” was none other than PSG Talon – a team that no one expected. From the beginning of the Rumble Stage, PSG was not highly regarded. Moreover, the PCS representative had already lost to T1 and Royal Never Give Up – two teams that were defeated by G2.

Besides G2’s defeat against PSG and then losing to RNG, the T1 players had a fairly successful third match day. Although the two teams they faced were both weaker opponents (Evil Geniuses and PSG), these victories were crucial. Not only did they solidify T1’s position on the leaderboard, but they also helped Faker and his teammates regain some much-needed confidence. It should be noted that in the past days, T1 has been under a lot of pressure. They had lost to both G2 and RNG – two direct competitors for the MSI 2022 championship. More importantly, the players’ performances were not convincing.

Therefore, the victories against EG and SGB will be the right “medication” for Faker and his teammates to boost their spirits. Many fans also hope T1 will perform better. After all, both EG and PSG are significantly weaker than T1. Hence, Faker and his teammates not only needed to win but also to win convincingly.

However, during the matches, this did not happen. T1 secured victories, but they were all hard-fought wins. Especially in the match against PSG, when T1 led by 8k gold, they still allowed PSG to take them down easily in team fights. The players who have maintained stable performance since MSI 2022 began are the veteran Faker and Oner. But Faker himself made some mistakes and ineffective plays. As a result, the League of Legends community still does not fully trust T1’s journey in this MSI 2022.

Nevertheless, T1 has now climbed to third place in the standings. With the upcoming opponents, only G2 and RNG are truly significant, so the chances for Faker and his teammates to make the top 4 are still very bright. Moreover, if their spirits have somewhat recovered, there is every reason to believe T1 will overcome this tough period and achieve great feats at MSI 2022 this time.
