T1 Reaches Key Milestones After Win Over Gen.G
As known, on the final matchday of week 7 for both teams, T1 secured a dramatic victory over Gen.G after the tough opponent took an early lead with a dominant Game 1. This win not only relieved T1’s pressure and strengthened their position on the standings before the conclusion of LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 group stage, but also allowed T1 to conquer a series of unfortunate streaks against Gen.G.

First, this is T1’s first win against Gen.G in 295 days, counting from their last victory over the reigning MSI champions on July 25 — the first match between the two teams after returning from MSI 2025. This victory also ended a 5-match losing streak against Gen.G, including three consecutive BO3 defeats. Since July 25 last year, whenever T1 faced Gen.G, they had suffered defeat regardless of the tournament.

More importantly, this marks T1’s fifth consecutive win across all competitions—a highly commendable achievement. The last team to defeat T1 was HLE, currently sitting at the top of the standings. However, if they were to meet again now, it’s uncertain if “the Orange” could claim another victory. The two teams have completed both legs of their current matchups, so their next encounter would likely be at the Road to MSI 2026.

T1 Is Now Fully Back in the MSI Race
Although HLE remains at the top, KT just defeated HLE, and Gen.G is still a powerful force, T1 is making a comeback. Their players have gradually found their rhythm, and once BO5 series begin, anything can happen. Especially since T1 is known as an extremely dangerous team in BO5 matches, regardless of the stage.
