Notable VCS Commentator Faces Backlash Over T1 – Smash – Gumayusi Drama
Perhaps, there has rarely been a time when T1 has made their fans feel as confused and frustrated as they do right now. However, amid the initial controversies surrounding the League of Legends community from information coming from T1, and with KOLs remaining silent, recently, the well-known VCS commentator – Hoàng Sama, faced backlash due to a statement related to the T1 – Gumayusi – Smash incident.

Specifically, perhaps with the intention of joking, the male VCS commentator posted a picture of Smash in a KT Rolster jersey, following some rumors that T1 might loan a player, which has been circulating recently. However, after the post appeared, many KT fans in Vietnam rushed to attack the commentator. In fact, some comments were quite extreme.
Nevertheless, the commentator has not reacted to the post at all, and as of now, the post remains untouched despite the continuous influx of mixed comments.

KT Fans’ Reaction to the VCS Commentator Could Also Be Pressure for Smash in the Future
Of course, Smash, T1, and even KT may not be aware of the fan reactions all the way from distant Vietnam. However, many comments from this situation pointed towards how the rookie of T1 behaves in front of his seniors and coach, as seen in clips posted by T1. It’s clear: LCK fans also recognize the issue, and the pressure on Smash is significant.

If Smash stays at T1 and competes for a position with Gumayusi, every match could potentially be a final for Smash. Unlike the cases of EasyHoon – Faker or even Clozer – Faker, before getting embroiled in the current drama, Smash’s skill level has been a topic of debate since he was in Challengers. In fact, Rekkles had to demonstrate the AD position for this young player to “broaden his horizons.”
As for his personality, regardless of how T1 intends to develop Smash’s image, it is clearly causing controversy. The player he “dares to challenge” is none other than Faker – someone who even the greatest legends of Esports and prominent figures from various fields must respect. The issue of Smash replacing Gumayusi is one thing, but the very act of “daring to challenge Faker” could be an even bigger issue.

It remains unclear where this drama will lead, but it can be said that the consequences will have a long-lasting impact on T1, Gumayusi, and Smash.
