Perhaps many viewers, especially fans of T1, cannot forget MSI 2022. In the international tournament of the League of Legends (LoL), T1 participated as the perfect champion of LCK Spring 2022. Faker and his teammates had an undefeated record and were largely seen by the LoL community as the number one contender for the MSI 2022 championship.

However, the bottom lane duo, who were performing well for T1 in LCK Spring, namely Gumayusi and Keria, underperformed. In fact, compared to the duo Shogun – Taki representing Vietnam, the T1 players were even less impressive. This was one of the important reasons why T1 fell to Royal Never Give Up (RNG) in the MSI 2022 finals.

In an interview before the rematch against RNG in the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Championship (Worlds), T1’s ADC Gumayusi had a chance to reflect on the time since MSI 2022 to now. He shared: “It’s been a while since our loss to RNG at MSI 2022, and I’ve learned a lot from that defeat. Honestly, my confidence has dropped significantly since that match. But each of us has trained much harder and rebuilt a great team, coordinating smoothly and always bouncing back strongly after each loss. Therefore, I am very confident in the upcoming matches”.

And Gumayusi did not disappoint his fans in the recent match against RNG. The 2002-born ADC was one of the standout players for T1. Notably, in the second game, Gumayusi did not die a single time but still had the most kills for T1.

With the outstanding performances of T1’s members up to now, it can be confidently stated that Faker and his teammates are indeed top contenders for the championship at the Worlds 2022. The match against JD Gaming will be extremely challenging, but if they win, Faker will take another step towards seeking his fourth Worlds championship title in his illustrious career.
