In the match during the sixth week of the group stage of LCK Summer 2023, T1 faced a defeat against Dplus KIA (DK). This result was not unexpected for many, as T1 is currently missing their captain and leader – Faker. DK also consists of seasoned players. However, the performance of both teams was the main topic of discussion after the match.

After the match, DK players disappointed their own fans, to say the least. However, for T1 fans, despite the loss, the players clearly delivered a commendable performance. In both games, T1 showcased two different playstyles. Many viewers even believe T1 could have won if not for some basic mistakes from Poby or issues during the draft phase.

One significant difference in the first game between T1 and DK compared to previous losses was the proactive play from T1 players. In the first two minutes of the first game, T1’s bot lane duo, Keria and Gumayusi, engaged in a duel against DK’s Deft – Bible. Notably, this was a winning situation for T1, though unfortunately, the first blood did not go to Gumayusi. Additionally, in the mid-game, Zeus secured a solo kill against Rumble. These moments showed that T1 players entered this match with great confidence.

Even when the opponent had a Renekton (one of the strongest top lane champions right now) at peak power, T1 still knew how to isolate and take down this champion. Of course, we cannot overlook Gumayusi, who showcased his value after several matches where he was somewhat overshadowed due to T1’s losses and the absence of Faker’s leadership.

Keria himself admitted that the entire team has made significant efforts and improvements compared to previous weeks of competition. Of course, Faker’s presence remains crucial. However, T1 is also demonstrating adaptability, and against the other teams, T1 will undoubtedly still be a formidable force if they maintain the focus shown in the recent match against DK.
