Entering the first round of the group stage of LCK Spring 2024, T1 faced a very strong opponent in KT Rolster. Up to now, KT is also the only team that has managed to defeat Gen.G this Spring. KT itself is a candidate for one of the two MSI 2024 spots and, moreover, the title of LCK Spring 2024 champion. However, clashing with a T1 that is soaring high is also a tough challenge for Deft and his teammates.

However, KT in the rematch against T1 did not show that they were the team that had stopped Gen.G’s unbeaten streak not long ago. In both games, T1 had the upper hand, even when Faker and his teammates chose champions that were at a disadvantage compared to KT (in game 1).

In fact, when Deft and BeryL used the currently strong Bot Lane duo of Kalista – Renata, they still could not showcase their champions as the T1 stars played too tightly. Moving on to game 2, KT simply could not withstand the strength of the T1 players in a rare game where Gumayusi used a “late game carry” marksman – Smolder. As a result, KT quickly fell 0-2 and T1 continued to defend their top position in the LCK Spring standings.

But the strongest aspect of T1 right now has been revealed by the team itself: in this current lineup, anyone can carry the team, and their playstyle is something that no one can study effectively. In game 1, KT banned a series of champions that T1 excels with, but just leaving Senna – Nautilus open immediately rendered the duo of Deft – BeryL ineffective despite having stronger champions. Game 1 was a testament to the skill, strategy, and macro play of T1 players, showcasing how they can adapt even when forced to select champions that are inferior to their opponents.

Moving on to game 2, it was all about fully exploiting the current meta’s strong picks. It also showed that T1 has a secret weapon named Gumayusi. This was the first game where Gumayusi had 5 or more kills without dying once. This indicates that although he has not stood out much this season, the “Prince” is always ready to shine as he has asserted.

T1 is currently incredibly versatile and clearly demonstrating that they are a leading contender for the Spring 2024 championship. However, T1’s journey is still long, and the players must not be complacent, especially since they will definitely have another match against Gen.G – their formidable rival to assert their ambitions.
