Facing the tough opponent Hanwha Life Esports was the final match for T1 in the fourth week of the LCK Summer 2024. However, for T1, having to play 2 matches in just over 2 days was truly a heavy “drain”. Especially when one of the teams was a direct competitor for a playoff spot, titles, and a slot in the 2024 World Championship. Therefore, it is hard to blame T1 for facing many difficulties against HLE. There were even quite a few situations in the match where it seemed T1 could lose at any moment. HLE, even when trailing, remained unfazed and almost always controlled the game.

Despite their efforts, with an equally matched opponent and a balanced game, just one mistake was enough to tip the scales. In fact, T1 lost after just one decisive team fight, and their defeat likely carries no regrets. All 10 players from both teams fought hard, but HLE performed better at the critical moment, deservedly taking the victory.

However, T1’s defeat has led to continued criticism of the LCK. Some comments noted: “In less than 3 days, they had to play 2 matches. Especially after T1 just returned from Saudi Arabia? I wonder what will happen when T1 no longer has this lineup or if Faker no longer plays, how will the LCK organizers “milk” the players like they are doing now with these players?” In reality, T1’s failure to achieve their best form and fitness also diminishes the significance of HLE’s victory.

Nevertheless, the HLE players secured the necessary victory to surpass T1 in the LCK Summer 2024 standings. Moreover, this was just the first match of the week for HLE, and they can fully extend the gap with Faker and his teammates if they achieve good results in their upcoming match against BNK FearX – an opponent currently positioned in the lower half of the standings this weekend.
