On June 14, T1 made their debut in the LCK Summer 2024 against Nongshim RedForce (NS). With a significant gap in skill level, T1 easily defeated their opponent with a swift score of 2-0. This marks a favorable start for T1 on their journey to conquer the LCK Summer 2024 title.

Interestingly, T1’s debut coincided with Gen.G’s victory over BNK FearX. Moreover, the highly anticipated clash between T1 and Gen.G is set to take place this coming Sunday. Therefore, right after defeating NS, Coach KkOma made a bold move by sending a “challenge letter” to Gen.G.
“Although we’ve recently faced defeats against Gen.G, the upcoming match will be different. We believe the entire team is well-prepared for this important match ahead. Personally, I believe that Gen.G is an opponent that T1 can defeat at any time” – Coach KkOma confidently shared after the win against NS.

Indeed, in recent seasons, Gen.G has been considered a “hard counter” to T1 in the LCK. It’s important to note that all four of Gen.G’s most recent LCK championships were secured by defeating T1 in the finals. Even in the LCK Spring 2024, Faker and his teammates were also defeated by Gen.G in both matches during the Group Stage.

However, recent positive signals from T1 have given fans hope for the team’s victory. Not long ago, T1 announced that they had found a way to protect themselves against direct DDoS attacks. Although they still face issues when playing ranked games, this move from T1 ensures that the scrims for the players will proceed normally and with the best preparation.

Notably, in the match against NS, T1 demonstrated exceptional teamwork during skirmishes. This is likely the result of thorough preparation during their scrims. If they continue to perform well as they did in the last match, Faker and his teammates have a real chance to take down Gen.G in the upcoming match.
