T1 entered the Semifinals of Worlds 2022 against JD Gaming – the champions of LPL Summer 2022. Although highly regarded by most fans of LoL worldwide, Faker and his teammates could not afford to be complacent. JDG is always a formidable name, especially from mid to late game. The LPL representative may not excel in the laning phase but always knows how to make their opponents suffer in every team fight.

But in the end, T1 proved they are indeed the strongest contender for this year’s championship title. After a somewhat shaky first game, Faker and his teammates rallied back and completed a comeback against the LPL representative. Notably, in the decisive fourth game, T1 maintained an overwhelming lead from start to finish, denying JDG any chance to turn the tide.

In this Semifinal match, both teams performed very well, and the team that showcased superior performance emerged victorious. In T1’s glorious victory, Faker was the most talked-about player. Ryze (games 2 and 3) and Azir (game 4) from Faker really became playmakers for T1’s win with his precise ultimate usage. Notably, both champions had not been heavily used by Faker recently, especially in Worlds 2022.

– “There’s no denying Faker anymore, immortal, the GOAT (Greatest of all time) of LoL, what a privilege to watch Faker play.”
– “I guess we overlooked the Ryze buff in the update for Worlds 2022.”
– “Faker, Bengi, and Worlds in North America. This formula feels familiar.”
– “Faker returns to the Finals for the first time since 2017. After half a decade, Faker is still there, fighting for his fourth championship. Truly the GOAT of LoL.”
– “Saint Faker, Azir and Ryze, too scary!!!”
Additionally, other T1 players like Keria and Gumayusi also received plenty of praise. Among them, Keria was regarded by many viewers as equally important to team captain Faker in this Bo5 match. His timely plays with Nami and Renata Glasc caused JDG immense difficulties, from the laning phase to team fights.

T1’s next opponent will be Gen.G Esports or DRX, both also representing the LCK. The victory against JDG is glorious but also helps T1 recognize many issues before heading into the most important match of the 2022 season on November 6 (Vietnam time) ahead.
