At Worlds 2022, teams LoL from the Land of the Morning Calm have left many impressive performances. However, there were quite a few surprises, notably Gen.G being eliminated by DRX in the semifinals. No one expected the reigning LCK Summer 2022 champions and top contenders for the Worlds 2022 title to leave the tournament empty-handed before the fourth seed from the LCK region – DRX.

Among the matches that took place in the quarterfinals, there were two incredibly thrilling matches that went down to the final moments. These were the matchups between Gen.G – DK and DRX – EDG. Notably, DRX pulled off a stunning comeback after the reigning Worlds 2021 champions took a 2-0 lead after the first two games. Meanwhile, Gen.G secured victory in the deciding match with a few seconds of brilliance from ADC Ruler.

As they entered the semifinals, both matchups ended with a score of 3-1, but both T1 and DRX showcased their best. The matches concluded with overwhelming scores, yet the progression of each game kept viewers glued to their screens. Previously, in the quarterfinals, the clash between T1 and RNG, although ending quickly, was a flawless performance without blemish from Faker and his teammates.

Due to the unexpected and exciting developments, matches from T1 specifically and LCK teams in general dominated the rankings for the highest viewership at Worlds 2022. Topping the list is none other than T1 and JDG – the semifinals of Worlds 2022 with a staggering 2.2 million views. The second spot goes to the other semifinal match between DRX and Gen.G (1.9 million views).
The remaining three matches in the top 5 also featured LCK representatives. The “LCK Derby” between DK and Gen.G ranked third with 1.6 million views. Meanwhile, DRX’s comeback against EDG ranked fifth with 1.5 million views, losing to T1’s matchup with RNG (1.61 million views). These views do not include the audience from LPL – a region that has its own distinct broadcasting platforms.

The statistics along with the competition results indicate that this has truly been a successful Worlds for the LCK in general and T1 in particular. Ahead of Faker and his teammates is only one final match at Worlds 2022. Fans are certainly looking forward to T1 writing a new chapter for themselves and adding another glorious milestone in Faker’s legendary career after this final.
