After thrilling matches in the qualifying round, the top contenders for the championship in the three games VALORANT, Wild Rift, and PUBG Mobile have emerged. They all gathered at the Final Round of UEC Samsung Fall 2022 with a common goal: to claim the championship title this time.
Although still quite young, UEC (University Esports Championship) – the esports tournament for university and college students has demonstrated professionalism from preparation to organization. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s take a tour to recap the highlights that took place at this year’s Final Round.
The Atmosphere Before the Final Round and the Unique Harbor Room of VALORANT

Ahead of the finals, fans from various universities arrived at the venue early, creating a lively atmosphere right from the first moments. Attendees not only witnessed stunning matches but also had the opportunity to take home valuable prizes by collecting stickers while participating in games or completing simple tasks at the Booth Area.

At UEC Samsung 2022, VNG also brought the Harbor Room – an exciting experience activity for VALORANT. By visiting and playing games at the Harbor Room, players had the chance to win attractive prizes such as in-game spray items and lanyards. This activity also promoted the upcoming release of the new agent Harbor in VALORANT.

Ha Linh – Head of the Esports Club at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “I am very happy to attend this year’s UEC event. The check-in booths, especially the Harbor Room, are very attractive. This is truly a very beneficial and meaningful activity for the gaming community among students today.”
Match Results Day 1 (October 29): 5King Crowned Champion in VALORANT at UEC Samsung 2022
On the first day of competition, the grand final match of VALORANT between 5King and Young Villains officially took place. True to the audience’s expectations for an exciting final, both teams in VALORANT delivered a thrilling atmosphere with endless score chases. As a result, 5King emerged victorious after a comeback despite being led by Young Villains 10-8 in the first map.
Although Young Villains made significant efforts to equalize in the second game, in the decisive match, 5King remained too cool-headed and officially claimed the championship title in VALORANT at UEC 2022.

Match Results Day 2 (October 30): VLU Esports Champion in Wild Rift – Stupid Guys Champion in PUBG Mobile
The second day of competition featured two popular mobile games, League of Legends: Wild Rift and PUBG Mobile. These are also two esports titles with a huge fan base in Vietnam.
In the Wild Rift category, it was a closely contested match between PNG Esports and VLU Esports. Despite the home advantage for VLU Esports (University of Van Lang – Ho Chi Minh City), PNG Esports (the team from Phenikaa University – Hanoi) proved they were not an easy opponent as they reached the finals.

After four tense games, the team from Ho Chi Minh City ultimately secured victory by capitalizing on opportunities better than their Hanoi counterparts. With a hard-fought 3-1 win, the players from Van Lang University officially became the champions of Wild Rift at UEC Samsung 2022.

In PUBG Mobile, the outcome was somewhat more predictable for fans. By the end of the fourth match, many spectators were confident that the victory belonged to Stupid Guys. With their alertness and stability at crucial moments, the four players from Stupid Guys successfully claimed the championship title in PUBG Mobile at this year’s UEC.

Thus, UEC Samsung 2022 has concluded successfully. With what has been achieved, UEC Samsung 2022 has excellently fulfilled its mission of providing a high-class, professional playground for students passionate about esports.
