In the recent spring season, T1’s youth team, T1 Challengers, easily claimed the championship title of LCK CL. Throughout both the group stage and playoffs, this team only lost 3 games.

In stark contrast to the beginning of 2021, T1 Challengers started the summer season with one win followed by a dismal streak of 7 consecutive losses. The abysmal performance of T1 Challengers has raised significant questions in the Korean League of Legends scene.
Without any personnel changes or backstage issues, Coach Bengi’s players have surprisingly slumped, leaving even those fans who are accustomed to the fluctuating performance of the main T1 roster bewildered by what is happening.

As for the fans, many are unclear whether T1 Challengers are “resting on their laurels” or if there are deeper underlying issues. Looking at the roster, T1 Challengers still maintains all 5 members after their spring championship, including Coach Bengi, who remains unchanged. This has led many to speculate that the current “lose-streak” might stem from issues arising within the team itself.

Compared to the main team, T1 is also experiencing numerous issues revolving around the internal dynamics of its members and coaching staff. For instance, Faker has publicly acknowledged disagreements with Coach Daeny.
With such signs, the Korean League of Legends community is speculating that there are indeed problems with the tactical operation and professional aspects of the T1 coaching staff.
