SofM Might Return to LPL, Possible Destination Revealed

There has been much information surrounding SofM's potential return to LPL in the near future.

As we know, after the conclusion of the 2022 LPL Summer Split, SofM returned to Vietnam and temporarily put his professional career on hold. In theory, SofM has not officially announced his retirement and he could potentially return to competition if he finds a suitable team. However, after the 2023 Spring Split ended, SofM has not shown any signs of returning to the professional scene, at least not in the upcoming Summer Split.

However, recently there have been some noteworthy pieces of information regarding the Vietnamese jungler. Specifically, KRYST4L and Fenfen – two of SofM’s close friends from LPL previously – revealed this. Specifically, Fenfen informed KRYST4L that the former roster of SN might reunite, and KRYST4L was also surprised to hear the news. He even asked “Could that be SofM and Angel (two former SN players who are currently teamless)?” and Fenfen implicitly confirmed.

Furthermore, KRYST4L even “helped” arrange a new lineup for his old friend. He did not rule out the possibility of SofM and Flandre reuniting (both of whom previously played for Snake Esports and later LNG Esports), especially since Flandre is also teamless after leaving Edward Gaming. However, the bottom lane position is facing difficulties as Huanfeng and ON already have teams, while SwordArt is too old.

But the most attention-grabbing information is the potential reunion of the close trio Flandre – SofM – Angel. Of course, the predicted destination could be a mid-tier team, with rumors suggesting it could be Ninjas in Pyjamas. Chinese media also highly evaluates the likelihood of SofM and Angel joining this team. Especially since SofM is well-known for his unique playstyle, influencing many younger junglers throughout his professional career.

Of course, these are just the revelations from Fenfen and KRYST4L. Whether he returns or not depends on SofM’s own decisions and his plans for the future. Fans can only wait, at least until the beginning of Summer 2023, to know the exact situation.
