As we know, alongside his expertise in League of Legends, SofM is also highly skilled in many other games. For this reason, he has been nicknamed the “King of Games” by many fans. In fact, during his time after leaving the LPL and returning to Vietnam, SofM has been trying hard at Naraka: Bladepoint – the famous Battle Royale game from NetEase. Not only playing for fun while taking a break from professional League of Legends, but SofM is actually investing seriously in the game. He has even participated in tournaments and achieved high rankings, as well as being honored with a character that looks exactly like him in the game.
Recently, it was discovered that SofM has also expressed his passion in a very special way. Specifically, within the Naraka: Bladepoint community in Vietnam, there was a post recruiting members for a professional team. Notably, below the post was a comment from SofM’s fan page containing a Facebook ticker that seemed to plead. It is unclear whether SofM used the fan page account or if it was Lily or another admin, but clearly, the “sneaking around” move has caught the attention of the Vietnamese League of Legends community.
Setting aside the fact that SofM is actually too old for the recruitment post, as he has been considered the highest-paid Vietnamese Esports player in the League of Legends scene, SofM’s actions are indeed very interesting. Some even “drew up” a scenario that SofM could simultaneously be a player and a coach for a real Naraka: Bladepoint team. Given his talent and passion, this role is entirely feasible for the former runner-up of the 2020 World Championship. Moreover, since SofM is currently no longer actively competing in professional League of Legends, such a direction is indeed possible.
However, this could just be a “random comment” during SofM’s free time. After all, Naraka: Bladepoint in Vietnam has yet to truly develop into a major Esport or have a proper professional tournament. Moreover, there have been some rumors about SofM potentially joining the coaching staff of Viking Esports for the 2024 season. This is a team that has just formed a completely new roster. If the rumors are true, SofM may want to focus on helping VE achieve good results before considering other directions.
