As one of the most famous League of Legends players in the world today, the name SofM is certainly well-known, especially within the VCS community. Competing in one of the most developed regions for League of Legends globally, SofM not only holds his ground but is also regarded by LPL fans as one of the “5 deities,” alongside names like TheShy, Uzi, Faker, and MadLife.

Competing and making a name for himself in a region that has developed significantly in Esports in general and League of Legends in particular, SofM is also considered very credible when making observations about this game and contributing to the growth of League of Legends in Vietnam. Many players in the VCS often reach out for advice or guidance from SofM, or view Duy “Cầu Giấy” as an idol, exemplified by players like Slayder and EGO… SofM himself does not hesitate to support his younger colleagues on their journey to becoming professional players.

Recently, in an interview, SofM shared his observations about the differences between the League of Legends environment in China and Vietnam. He remarked that the competitive environment in China is stricter, better, and helps him to become better and more strict with himself, more serious when playing games.
Additionally, SofM pointed out one aspect that Vietnamese Esports players lack: “Players in Vietnam do not have what is called self-discipline.” SofM also offered advice for young individuals aspiring to become professional players: “Firstly, you must work hard, be diligent, and have talent. Once you enter professional tournaments, you must be strict with yourself and cannot afford to be lax.”
The points SofM raised are indeed the weaknesses that have long plagued the VCS in particular and Vietnamese Esports in general. Many players are incredibly talented but do not focus on training, show a lack of seriousness, and get caught up in too much drama. The lack of professionalism in treating the profession is precisely why many prominent names have self-destructed in their careers while at their peak, with the most recent and notable example being “Ma Vương” Zeros and his global ban due to inappropriate comments.
