Since the brief period of glory two years ago, ShowMaker and the team Damwon Gaming have been on a downward spiral. They have even changed names twice but luck has not changed, and in the recently concluded Spring 2023 season, Dplus KIA (DK) performed even worse. They ended up completely empty-handed after losing to Hanwha Life Esports in the very first match of the playoffs.

Of course, this performance cannot satisfy ShowMaker. Known for his strong personality, he was once seen as the heir to Faker. However, his sharp decline in performance has significantly contributed to DK’s poor results. The image of him lowering his head in silence after the loss to HLE has left fans feeling sorrowful for one of the best Mid Laners that LCK has ever produced since Faker’s era.

Therefore, ShowMaker himself cannot accept continued failure. Especially as, in this Spring 2023 season, he has gradually regained his image even though he has not truly returned to his peak form. In a recent interview, ShowMaker firmly stated: “During the summer break, I will increase my practice time. I am willing to sacrifice my health to gain strength in competition. I am even ready to do anything possible to perform well in the Summer Championship”.

Of course, ShowMaker also understands that League of Legends is a 5-player game and to win, DK needs all 5 players to be in top form. But surely, ShowMaker will do his utmost, as he has never been a player who easily accepts defeat.
In the upcoming period, the attention of the League of Legends community will focus on MSI 2023. However, the DK players have their own plans. And fans have every right to expect that ShowMaker’s efforts, as well as those of the DK team, will bring positive results in the Summer 2023 season.
