Rumors suggest that the Play-In stage of Worlds 2024 will be held in a venue smaller than the VCS studio
In recent days, the attention of the League of Legends community has been focused on the biggest tournament of the year – Worlds 2024, with all participating teams now confirmed. Naturally, teams with the largest fanbases such as T1, Gen.G, and Bilibili Gaming will be under special scrutiny. Additionally, for VCS fans, at the end of September, the Vietnamese representatives, Vikings Esports and GAM Esports, will also compete in the Play-In stage of Worlds 2024. This is considered a significant season for VCS as starting from 2025, VCS will officially merge into APAC.

However, according to recent information from the European League of Legends community, the venue for the Play-In stage is quite small. Specifically, information from a fan of Karmine Corp indicates that KC is preparing for their first match at their own venue, which has a capacity of about 3,000 people. The accompanying information also states that KC’s venue will be 15 times larger than the venue for the Play-In stage of Worlds 2024. This means that if the information is true, the venue for the Play-In stage of Worlds 2024 will only have around 200 seats.

Notably, if this information is verified, the venue for the Play-In stage of Worlds 2024 could be comparable to GG Stadium, the old VCS venue. As known, GG Stadium in the past had a capacity of around 200 seats as well.

Fans are also concerned about the organization of Worlds 2024
Following this information, the League of Legends community is quite bewildered and buzzing about the organization of Worlds 2024. Since the Worlds held in Iceland in 2021, the LEC has undergone many changes. Teams that are “familiar yet strange” have appeared and replaced many old names. However, apart from a few “veterans” like G2 Esports and Fnatic, even Rogue recently announced its dissolution. European League of Legends has not achieved any outstanding results, and that is the biggest challenge for teams to maintain and grow without an established brand.

Of course, this information has yet to receive any official confirmation. Therefore, fans may still have to wait until the matches of Worlds 2024 officially take place to have the most accurate assessment.
