According to information from writer FionnOnFire from ESPN, there are rumors circulating that Riot Games will begin filming a live-action movie about League of Legends, with the main character being Faker.
However, this is not a movie centered around players or tournaments, but rather a reinterpretation of a “fantasy – otherworld” theme, where the legendary player Faker, through some coincidence, will fall into the magical world of Runeterra and meet the champions in the game, joining them in adventures across this land.
FionnOnFire even revealed the “super star-studded” cast that will participate in this project, including the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Garen, and singer Taylor Swift as Ashe. Meanwhile, the character Faker is portrayed by actor Michael Cera.

A League of Legends movie featuring The Rock and Taylor Swift? Just the thought sounds “amazing.” However, the casting of Faker has sparked intense controversy within the community, as it is rumored to be played by a white actor – Michael Cera, while Faker is of Asian descent, and this could lead the movie to repeat the mistakes of past productions by “breaking” the character’s image.
Nevertheless, all of this is still based on speculation; aside from FionnOnFire, no other sources have reported on this “movie,” so it is also possible that this is just a “troll.”
However, if the information is true and Riot is indeed developing a live-action project, fans still hope that they will choose a more deserving name for the role of the Undying Demon King, as the issue is not about actor Michael Cera, but rather the fans’ desire for a portrayal that closely resembles Faker on-screen, rather than transforming him into a Western character as suggested.
