Riot is determined to eliminate the roaming meta, leaving Faker speechless
Recently, Riot announced some new updates, with the most notable being their determination to eliminate the roaming meta that has dominated professional League of Legends since MSI 2024. In particular, Riot has also provided a new roaming alert system and significantly increased the damage of solo lane turrets. Recently, Faker became a “victim” in Riot’s effort to change the professional League of Legends meta.

Specifically, when Faker tested Riot’s new anti-roaming mechanism, he used Rengar and attempted to attack the Top Lane turret. However, as soon as Faker moved to the Top Lane and exchanged damage with the opposing champion, the system issued a warning. At the moment Faker wanted to dive the turret, he ended up losing 3900 health to turret shots and was taken down.

Following this incident, Faker was indeed very surprised. Perhaps he knew that turret damage was currently very strong if opponents intended to roam or dive, but being “one-shot” instantly was truly beyond the G.O.A.T.’s expectations.

But this change could benefit Faker and T1
In fact, having to balance between roaming and Fearless Draft (if any) has caused T1 a lot of difficulties in the recently concluded LCK Cup 2025. They not only lost lanes across all three lines against strong opponents, but Faker himself also lost viable options that suited his current playstyle.

If the roaming playstyle comes to an end, T1 will be able to revert to the “win lane win game” style based on the strongest bot lane duo in the world right now – Gumayusi and Keria. This would also relieve pressure on the Top and Mid Lanes while creating better opportunities for T1 to efficiently roll snowballs down to the bot lane.
