Recently, it’s not League of Legends: Wild Rift but rather Riot Games’ shooter game Project A that has had the most leaks. Yesterday, this game officially received a new name, along with a Twitter account and an official Twitch.tv channel for Riot Games to announce its game. With the Twitter handle @playValorant, we can confirm that this game is named Valorant.
Not only did they announce the official name, but new images of the game’s maps were also revealed. All these images were taken during playtesting, so the characters, weapons, and details of the maps are not yet fully polished. However, this is still a very positive sign as the basic and most challenging design elements of the game, including maps, gameplay, and character skills, are gradually being completed. The images can be easily upgraded later.
However, many players who are familiar with CS:GO have keenly noticed that this new map is quite similar to CS:GO’s map de_Mirage. The most noticeable similarities are in the upper area and the underpath of bomb site A, which Riot has slightly modified from the Mirage map.
With the basic elements of the game gradually being completed, it’s likely that expanded playtests for Project A – Valorant will appear soon. Perhaps the aspect that needs upgrading in this game is the graphics; indeed, the characters and skill effects still remain quite rudimentary and need substantial adjustments to at least compare with CS:GO.
