In the early hours of today, according to Vietnam time, the lead designer of Teamfight Tactics – Riot Mortdog released a video explaining version 10.5 and announced its changes. With Shadow being nerfed in the previous 10.4b patch, team compositions appeared quite balanced, and no team comp had become overwhelmingly dominant.
Therefore, in patch 10.5, there will be minor adjustments, buffing units and elements that seem to be a bit weaker. Meanwhile, Yasuo received a slight nerf due to his ability to eliminate carries too quickly and effectively. Specific information:

Blademaster: Activation rate increased from 35% to 40%.
Lightning: Damage activation at 4 champions increased from 500 to 550 magic damage.
Ice Clan: Damage activation at 6 champions increased from 375 to 475 magic damage.

Diana
Shield duration increased from 3s to 4s.
The number of damage-dealing orbs at 3-star level increased from 5 to 6.
Leona
Shield duration decreased from 5s to 4s.
Zyra
Maximum energy reduced from 75 to 65.
The number of plants created by the skill at 3-star level increased from 4 to 5.
Rek’Sai
Skill damage at 3-star level increased from 850 to 1000.

Syndra
Skill damage increased from 175/350/600 to 225/375/650.
Yasuo
Maximum energy increased from 85 to 90.
Dr. Mundo
Skill damage at 3-star level increased from 150 to 200.
Ezreal
Skill damage at 1-star level increased from 225 to 250.

Karma
Additional attack speed for allies from the skill changed from 40/60/80% to 35/50/100%.
Nocturne
Healing percentage from the passive increased from 40/45/50% to 50/60/70%.
Janna
Healing increased from 20/30/100% to 25/35/200% of ally’s maximum health.
Twitch
Base damage increased from 65 to 70.

Zed
The energy penalty of the clone at 3-star level changed from 0 to -125 (meaning when Zed is 3-star, the shadow requires 25 energy to continue cloning).
Lux
Skill damage at 3-star level increased from 9,999 to 99,999.

Essentially, patch 10.5 does not have any major updates, mostly strengthening 3-star units to make them more viable and valuable when players “level them up”. Units like Zyra, Syndra, and Rek’Sai are very strong at 3-star level with added damage, however, Rek’Sai is the most promising name, could the Hyper-roll Beast comp make a comeback?

In terms of changes to clans-systems, Blademasters are given back power and are a viable option if you’re lucky enough to obtain a Spatula from monster rounds. Combined with Nocturne’s buff, the traditional Blender comp and Azir’s variant could appear more frequently. However, it still comes down to the “luck factor” regarding whether you can get a Spatula to play this comp.

The Lightning Clan received buffs but it’s really hard to play this comp as you need Lux to activate the 4 champion combo, which is nearly impossible. Meanwhile, the Ice Clan offers you more choices such as Ice Hammer, for instance, and does not strictly depend on Lux but still requires some “luck”. Perhaps Riot has learned from the experience of overly buffing Shadow in previous patches.
