Throughout its journey from launch to the present, League of Legends has had many features added or removed by Riot. Every time a new season arrives, players eagerly anticipate what adjustments and improvements Riot will introduce. Naturally, not all features in League of Legends have been well-received by players. One such feature was the 7-Day Skin Rental.

At a glance, this could seem like a feature designed to attract players to “donate” their money. Riot may have thought that by allowing players to rent skins for a limited time, if they found a skin they liked, they would be willing to purchase it. However, this feature, which is not unfamiliar to gamers of many titles, has become one of the most frustrating aspects for League of Legends players, and they only pay attention to it if they accidentally… click on it.

The reason being, instead of returning the skin fragment to players after the trial period, players were left with a complete loss of a skin fragment that could only be experienced for 7 days. Not to mention, if players happen to collect fragments for rare skins, it would be a disaster if someone accidentally… misclicks.

The League of Legends community is certainly thrilled about Riot’s action. Essentially, this was a very nice feature but impractical due to some unreasonable calculations from Riot when designing League of Legends. But finally, Riot has corrected its mistake and saved League of Legends players from encountering any more “accidents.”
