After “angering” the League of Legends community, Riot had to make a sudden turnaround
Not long ago, Riot infuriated the League of Legends community by removing the Hextech Chest system and Blue Essence – features that were considered hallmarks of the game’s “Free to Play” nature. Even the new CEO of Riot faced demands from the community for an urgent firing.

Recently, Riot had to make a sudden turnaround. Not only did they bring back the Hextech Chest system, but this publisher also had to slash champion prices by 50%. Additionally, they committed to revising the much-criticized Mordekaiser skin.
Furthermore, the “Your Shop” system in the game client will also return, and other expensive skin lines will be delayed to allow Riot to revise and release a better version for players.

Riot’s actions remind the League of Legends community of… T1
Seemingly unrelated, Riot’s situation has reminded many players of T1. This is because the team is also embroiled in drama for “disrespecting” fans when multiple fan Membership accounts were locked simply for cheering for Gumayusi or the DOFGK/HJFGK lineup. One comment noted: “At least Riot shows they actually listen to players. Unlike some team T that only knows how to ban users who are paying them.”

On the other hand, many gamers expressed confusion about Riot: “Riot’s actions are really puzzling. Sometimes they make players feel like this is a company only focused on profit. Then, they turn into a family company where customer happiness is the most important thing.”

Whatever the reason, Riot’s policy change has at least helped salvage the situation for this game. The League of Legends community will continue to monitor this publisher’s next moves and is ready to respond strongly if Riot makes any more “grave mistakes” in the future with their once-beloved game.
