In recent days, following streamer Voyboy’s comments about the increasing toxicity and disruption in League of Legends, Riot Games has faced considerable backlash for their lenient punishment system and lack of deterrence. While many people play games purely for fun, that does not give anyone the right to insult others or disrupt the game just for the sake of it.

The wave of feedback regarding the state of League of Legends has become so significant that Riot Games cannot simply overlook it or post a token article. Players demand a substantial response from Riot Games. In their latest stream, longtime employee and player behavior expert Rivington the 3rd acknowledged the deteriorating state of League of Legends and revealed that Riot is doing everything possible to tackle this issue.

Rivington the 3rd: “Yes, Voyboy just posted a video discussing the state of League of Legends, which has generated a huge wave of feedback online at this time. Voyboy is a longstanding member with a significant voice in the community; he was once a professional player and is now a streamer. His video accurately describes the toxic behavior of players and its impact on even the highest ranks.

I can assure you that here at Riot Games, we take this issue very seriously. We are constantly observing and caring about the community, and the team has been working tirelessly to come up with solutions to address this problem. You can rest assured that we are on top of this and will bring about positive changes. Voyboy, we have heard your feedback and thank you very much for that.”

With what the Riot Games representative shared, we can be assured that they are listening to community feedback and are looking for ways to adjust and introduce new forms of punishment to mitigate toxicity and disruptive players in League of Legends. However, the question remains: how long will it take for these changes to be announced and implemented in the game?

Remember that League of Legends still has plenty of other issues, from unbalanced champions, game bugs, a slow client, and numerous errors, not to mention the lack of essential features. It’s uncertain how Riot Games will address these existing problems and how long it will take when they have so much to do. Players cannot always rely on the publisher; to reduce game disruption and toxicity, we should also refrain from insulting others and play more responsibly.
