In recent days, the Arena mode is attracting the attention of the League of Legends community. Although it was created primarily to promote the Spirit Blossom skin line, the competitive nature of Arena is still quite high, drawing in many players. In fact, there have been numerous guides and analyses of this mode, much like those for League of Legends or Teamfight Tactics.

However, according to Riot Meddler, the publisher is still researching and evaluating to make a decision regarding the fate of this new game mode. In a post on Reddit, Meddler stated: “We will need to see the level of interaction with matches in Arena mode a bit before we can make any commitments about its future. We definitely want to spend more time on it, and there’s a long list of things we want to improve or add.”

This is nothing new. Riot has previously introduced many unique game modes into the League of Legends client. However, some modes have become staples or return annually (like URF or One for All), while others have completely disappeared. Notable examples include Ascension and Nexus Blitz. These were once very engaging modes loved by players but are no longer available.

Many players have taken this opportunity to request Riot to bring back these exciting game modes. However, even Riot Meddler does not have the sole authority to decide this. Still, based on some observations and evaluations, it seems Riot intends to implement Arena into League of Legends: Wild Rift. This is understandable as Riot continues to invest heavily in this mobile version of League of Legends.

It can be said that, according to Riot’s statements, players also have a say in the future of a game mode. However, many remain skeptical about whether Riot will truly consider the frequency of player engagement, given that many attractive modes have been “retired” in the past.
